The applications that Hypnosis can be used for are endless. Hypnosis can be used to overcome any fear or addiction, to manage pain or stress. It can also be used for Past Life Regression. Common uses include weight loss, smoking cessation, stress/anxiety reduction, pain management, sport performance enhancement, improving self-esteem/confidence, overcoming test anxiety, improving public speaking and dealing with sadness in our lives.

Remember – hypnosis is a focused form of concentration, very similar to the state of meditation. It is very relaxing. 10 minutes of hypnosis is equal to 3 hours of sleep! You do not give up any control when you experience hypnosis. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, the Hypnotist merely acts as a guide, or facilitator, leading you through the suggestions. A typical hypnosis session lasts anywhere from 40 to 60 minutes.
Prior to the actual hypnosis you will have a chance to discuss the issues that you want to work on with Sara. This will give you an opportunity to get to know her and to express any concerns you may have about the process. Sara will explain exactly how the process works. You will then be asked to get into a comfortable position so that your body is completely supported. You’ll then be in a better position to just relax and let go of the tension of the day. You will be asked to close your eyes. Sara will then lead you through some simple relaxation exercises using verbal suggestions. She will then use a very common technique to count you down into a more relaxed state of mind. Once that level has been achieved Sara will give you the suggestions to facilitate whatever changes you wish to make. She may ask you to loan her your imagination in order to visualize some of the suggestions, but the majority of the suggestions will be verbalized and won’t require any response from you. (If you have trouble visualizing then other techniques will be used — such as use of your memory, or sense of smell, sound or feeling.)
Different people experience different things while under hypnosis. Some people find their eyes fluttering a little, other people find themselves swallowing a little more than usual as they relax further into the state. Some people become so relaxed that they can actually hear themselves snoring! A number of people, especially in their first session, remember every word that is said. Some fall asleep, which is fine as it is the subconscious we are working with, not the waking or thinking part of the brain. Others find their consciousness fading in and out, a little bit like waking up to an alarm clock and hitting the snooze button. (Awake, but not awake, asleep, but not asleep!)
At the end of the hypnosis you will be counted back to a full waking state, with suggestions designed to awaken you to a state of well-being. In the history of hypnosis no-one has ever failed to return to their waking state! Most people enjoy the hypnotic state so much they wish they could stay in it longer.
